NEWS: Scalextric Audi R8 LMS GT3

Scalextric Audi R8 LMS GT3
C3378, 'Phoenix Racing', Bathurst 12hr 2012

Soon to be released is Scalextric's second Bathurst 12 hour 2012 'Phoenix Racing' Audi R8.  I particularly enjoy these Australian themed liveries, the detail in the spider web over the entire cars is very impressive and if you already have the black (C3386) themed sister car then this would make a great running mate.  The Scalextric Audi R8 is a great slot on the track with front and rear lighting, detail levels are impressive particularly the rear end.

This from Wikipedia; 'The 2012 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour was an endurance race for GT3 cars, GT4 cars, Group 3E Series Production Cars and Dubai 24 Hour cars.  The event, which was staged at the Mount Panorama Circuit, near Bathurst, in New South Wales, Australia on 26 February 2012, was the tenth running of the Bathurst 12 Hour, and the sixth since the race was revived in 2007.

There were 25 starters in the race, the smallest field since the inaugural Bathurst 12 Hour event in 1991. Four of the six classes, B, C, E and I, each had only three starters.

The race was won by 2011 Armour All Bathurst 12 Hour winners Darryl O'Young of Hong Kong and Christopher Mies of Germany with their new co-driver for 2012, German Christer Jöns. The trio drove a Phoenix Racing prepared Audi R8 LMS GT3, the same model that Mies and O'Young had driven to victory in 2011.' The below video shows the Audi 'Phoenix Racing' team during the running of the Bathurst 12 hour in 2012 - nice footage.

Manic, the version shown here has a detailed interior. The C3378 to hit the shelves in Aus this week appears to be super resistant with black windows.

Exactly Phil, I was pretty disappointed in that change by Scalextric myself - I'm not sure why the change? I was pretty keen to have the pair of Bathurst R8s in my collection but I draw the line at the high-impact models.
